In response to the catostrophic Japan earthquake of 2012, this logo was created for an organization bent on helping the people and country rebound and recouperate from this unfortunate disaster.
I decided on using simple shapes to represent certain universal meanings that could span cultures. The circle represents the world and the cross represents aid and assistance. Surrounding a seismograph, I wanted to represent a feeling of stability despite unstable circumstances. To also add stability, I chose Bank Gothic as type to add strength and sturdiness.
